DYLP : a dynamic lp code SFU - CMPT TR 1998 - 23

چکیده
DYLP is a linear programming code implementing a dynamic simplex algorithm similar to that outlined by Padberg in [5]. The code attempts to maintain a reduced active constraint system by regularly purging loose constraints and variables with unfavourable reduced costs, and adding violated constraints and variables with favourable reduced costs. In abstract, the code alternates between primal and dual simplex algorithms, using dual simplex to reoptimise after updating the constraint set and primal simplex to reoptimise after updating the variable set.

متن کاملSkeletal Representations and Applications
When representing a solid object there are alternatives to the use of traditional explicit (surface meshes) or implicit (zero crossing of implicit functions) methods. Skeletal representations encode shape information in a mixed fashion: they are composed of a set of explicit primitives, yet they are able to efficiently encode the shape’s volume as well as its topology. I will discuss, in two di...
متن کاملSmoke-Free Universities Help Students Avoid Establishing Smoking by Means of Facilitating Quitting
BACKGROUND This study aimed to clarify whether smoke-free policies affect the initiation or the quitting of smoking among young adults. METHODS In this natural quasi-experiment study, three universities with different enforcement of smoke-free policies were considered in Kazan City, Russian Federation. Exposure data were collected in 2008-2009 through measurement of particulate matter concent...
متن کاملSpectral Volume Rendering
We describe a method for volume rendering using a spectral representation of colour instead of RGB. Full spectra allow the generation of physically correct rendering of a scene under different lighting conditions. To make the method practicable, a new low-dimension subspace method is used to act as the carrier of spectral information. To fully exploit spectra, we introduce the technique of post...
متن کاملA Spectral Engine for Visualization
Full spectra allow the generation of physically correct rendering of a scene under different lighting conditions. Here, a tool is developed to design a palette of lights and materials having certain properties, such as selective metamerism or colour constancy. The mathematical underpinnings of the tool consist of two parts. Firstly, we make use of a method for optimally characterizing full spec...
